About the role
SUMMARY
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible to check, measure, audit and perform Quality control activities on line and in the lab on a regular basis.
Follow Quality System procedures at all times. Record and report any or all non-conformances to the QA Lead hand/ Manager.
Pay Rate: $24.25/hr
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- To collect and prepare samples for scheduled testing.
- Perform all required quality tests according to test procedures manual and as assigned by QC Supervisor.
- Record all test results in the appropriate logs, as per QC procedure.
- Perform and control the online coloring process.
- Must demonstrate competence in all Quality Control Laboratory and Quality Control Production requirements.
- Report all non-conformances to QC Supervisor and Production Manager, lead the scrap/quarantine activities as per company procedure.
- Report any damaged or malfunctioned piece of testing equipment to QC Supervisor.
- Communicate with peers at beginning/end of his shift re Quality issues/processing issues.
- Communicate with QC management by acknowledging any written instructions in the QC log Book (1) and leave report in the QC log Book (2).
- Maintain a clean work environment during and at end of shift.
- Participate in mid and year-end inventory count if required.
- Other duties as assigned by QC Supervisor or Management.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Ontario High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably plastic extrusion.
- Quality Control experience a must.
- Computer knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Must have strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
- Must be able to work all shift, including 12 hour continental shift.
