About the role
We are looking for an Event and Marketing Co-ordinator to manage our upcoming Positive Living: Wellness Health Fairs for Seniors. These event are funded by a government grant New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP).
Note: You must be an older adult, 55 years or older, to support this government funded seniors’ initiative. Please confirm in your application.
As our Event and Marketing Co-ordinator, you’ll be taking on the essential tasks related to the successful implementation 2 health fairs - One in October 2025 and March 2026.
You will:
- Recruit charity groups, vendors for vendor booths
- Recruit and co-ordinate keynote speakers
Co-ordinate all aspects of both fairs, including vendors, speakers and volunteers
- Day of event in-person presence to implement the event
- Develop a marketing plan based on budget
- Execute marketing plan to have an audience of over 500 seniors and 600 participants in total
- Recruit politicians to attend event
Successful Candidate will be:

This is a contract position that lasts the duration of the project. There is a set budget as funding for this role is based on a government grant.
Duration of Contract
- August 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026
Compensation
- Stipend of $3,520 for 160 hours of work during time of contract - $22 per hour. 20 hours a month for 8 months.
Work Environment
- Work from home
- In-person presence for 2 in-person events/health fairs
Experience
- Experience leading a seniors health fairs
- Experience leading a seniors’ speaker event or related event
- Experience marketing to seniors
- Proven track record to recruit 500 seniors and 600 participants in total for past events
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience co-ordinating seniors events
- Computer skills, including Email, MS Office (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Must be flexible to mostly work from home
- Diploma in event co-ordination is an asset
