The Senior Product Service Specialist – HVAC plays a critical role in ensuring a world-class ownership and service experience for ductless and unitary air products. This role leads serviceability and training efforts across training, technical support, product development, and field quality. Acting as the "Voice of Service," the incumbent partners with cross-functional teams including technology, engineering, quality, and distribution.

How You'll Create Possibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance product training modules including, but not limited to, product lineup, application, installation, operation, control, service, troubleshooting and product selection software.
  • Develop hands on training materials that simulate faults allowing customers to troubleshoot our equipment during training classes.
  • Conduct training independently for internal and external customers in company training facilities, and using distributor locations, or via Web based training sessions.
  • Support in-field investigations to identify product performance issues by gathering pertinent data and participating in team-based discussions that include product engineering teams.
  • Support distributor or dealer projects including field troubleshooting, product commissioning, application development, and technical support for distributors and dealers.
  • Edit and suggest revisions to applicable product service literature (i.e., wiring diagrams, installation manuals, service manuals, etc.).
  • Author and develop service guides, service bulletins and training bulletins. Collaborate with the technical editor for final release to the field.
  • Provide post event reports, research and development of training events.
  • Modify marketing materials technical content to meet customer requirements.
  • Develop and deploy product updates, cut sheets for sales personnel and technical training sessions

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Position Requirements:

  • Strong HVAC Aptitude
  • Strong understanding of inverter technology
  • Proven problem-solving skills with a passion for training and customer support.
  • Developed computer skills including Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in a project oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated self-starter that works independently without constant supervision.
  • Ability to challenge status quo and drive for performance excellence.
  • Prior experience developing and/or delivering technical training material.
  • High-energy person with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognized technical HVAC training program
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in HVAC field service roles
  • Valid Class B Gas Fitter License (issued by Technical Safety BC) or eligibility to obtain it
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Canada
  • Must reside in British Columbia or elsewhere in Western Canada.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Red Seal Certification as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic (or in-progress toward Red Seal)
  • Familiarity with BC Safety Authority regulations and Technical Safety BC permitting requirements
  • Additional trade certifications such as NATE or manufacturer-specific credentials considered an asset
  • Language skills in French or Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
  • Prefer ductless, unitary or VRF experience.

Compensation & Employment Terms:

  • This is a salaried position eligible for overtime, in accordance with British Columbia Employment Standards.
  • Employment will be through a Canadian employer partner, while the individual will report to and work directly with GE Appliance's team.
  • Vacation and Paid Time Off: Minimum 2 weeks annual vacation (or more, based on experience), plus all applicable statutory holidays in the province of residence.
  • Additional benefits (health, dental, retirement) will be provided by the employment partner as per standard Canadian offerings.

Working Conditions:

  • 30-70% travel required for domestic travel, with seasonal variations.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. during field work or site visits.
  • Flexibility for occasional evening or weekend work based on event schedules
