Sonepar Canada is currently looking for someone with an administrative background to join our finance team. We're looking for someone who's motivated, curious and ready to make their mark! As a member of the team, you will have the chance to actively contribute to the financial activities of one of the largest electrical distributors in Canada and worldwide, while developing your skills in a dynamic and stimulating environment. Sonepar Canada is the parent company of brands you may know such as Lumen, Gescan, Texcan, Robertson and Electrozad amongst others.
You'll Have the Opportunity To:

Compile financial data
-
Maintain records, record journal entries including accruals and prepaids for cost centers
-
Analyze expenses and balance sheet accountsPerform financial reconciliations
-
Perform routine treasury tasks
-
Coordinate the gathering of information from other departments
-
Respond to various requests for information and maintain good relations with internal stakeholders
-
Participate in process improvement initiatives
-
Participate in the preparation of PowerPoint presentations
-
Participate in Ad-hoc requests
You will thrive in this role if you have the following skills and qualities:
- Bachelor's degree or a DEC in Accounting, or equivalent accounting experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a retail or distribution company
- Strong computer skills, particularly with Excel and ERPs
- Good communication skills, team player, resourceful and able to manage priorities in a dynamic environment
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Knowledge of IFRS rules is an asset
- Good knowledge of written and spoken French and English
