Payroll and Accounts Payable Clerk
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll and Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing payroll, managing accounts payable, and supporting various accounting functions. This role requires proficiency with payroll and accounting systems, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Administration
- Process payroll accurately and on time using our Dealer system.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and adjustments.
- Reconcile payroll transactions and resolve discrepancies.
- Respond promptly to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
- Generate payroll reports and assist with audits as required.
- Stay current with relevant laws and regulations affecting payroll.
- Accounts Payable
- Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Reconcile accounts payable and prepare adjusting journal entries as directed.
- Process manual cheques for vehicle purchases as needed.
- Petty Cash
- General Accounting & Office Support
- Review, balance, and post daily cash receipts and perform cash reconciliations
- Support general office duties and assist the office manager as required.
- Ensure compliance with all government, OMVIC, and manufacturer regulations.
- Assist sales staff with accounting functions.
- Provide backup support to the receptionist and licensing clerk.
Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree in Accounting, Business Administration required.
- 1–3 years of experience in a corporate office setting, with accounting experience.
- Demonstrated experience in payroll, accounts payable, and receivable.
- Proficiency with accounting and payroll software such as ADP, UltiPro, Ceridian, or similar systems.
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting practices and general bookkeeping procedures.
- Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent data entry and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with HR systems and relevant labor laws is an asset.
- Dealership experience is an asset but not required.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 44 per week
