Senior Health System Data Analyst
The Ministry is seeking an enthusiastic, creative individual with a strong background in data analytics for the position of Senior Health System Data Analyst.
As a Senior Health System Data Analyst, you will provide analytic work to support a more unified, strategic approach to analyze, capture and disseminate data improving decision making at all levels of the health system. Analysis of your work will lead and inform improvements and evaluation of health system outcomes. As a part of the Ministry of Health you will work as part of a team and various health system partners.
In this role, you will:
- Understand and interpret existing healthcare data, models and methodologies to support planning, accountability and decision making.
- Support the development, application, review and refinement of financial costing methodologies for the health system.
- Provide analytic support for a range of initiatives to advance the Ministry’s strategic, business and accountability processes.
- Be responsible for business, systems and process analysis as it relates to analytics systems and the business functions they support. This includes identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, including researching best practices.
- Develop a variety of business and technical documentation.
- Provide training, assistance and technical support to subject matter experts and end-users in accessing, interpreting and generating reports and analysis from analytical systems.
- Demonstrate sound judgement and discretion in the handling of confidential and sensitive information.
- Prepare and clearly communicate both verbally and in writing analytic reports, complicated technical ideas, business and technical documentation and other information to a variety of audiences.
- Have experience developing working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to work towards a common goal.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be an experienced professional, preferably having financial, business systems analysis, and/or clinical research work experience.
- Have excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and be a strategic thinker with strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Have knowledge in SQL, Microsoft Power BI, Qlik Sense or similar data analytics tools.
- Have knowledge in low-code platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics and/or application administration/system configuration experience will be considered an asset.
Typically, the knowledge and experience required to be successful in this position would be obtained through the completion of a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or Business Administration, or the completion of an applicable information technology and/or business analyst certification, along with several years of experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
