About Brucejack Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

Your Impact

As Supervisor, Core Shed at our Brucejack operation, you will lead a team responsible for Diamond drill core sample handling, data quality, and storage. You’ll ensure procedures are followed accurately and efficiently, support geological data integrity, and maintain compliance with environmental and safety standards. This role is critical to supporting exploration and research initiatives with reliable, high-quality sample data.

As Part of Our Team, You Will

  • Supervise core shed operations, staff, equipment, and daily core/RC processing activities
  • Ensure SOPs are followed for handling, logging, cutting, imaging, sampling, and storage
  • Monitor data quality, implement imaging standards, and conduct periodic audits
  • Coordinate with geoscientists for sampling plans, data collection, and analytical support
  • Maintain a searchable image database linked to geological logs and core inventory
  • Train and assess technicians on procedures, safety, and imaging competency
  • Oversee sample shipment logistics, archiving systems, and retrieval of core samples
  • Enforce environmental protocols for core storage, reuse, and disposal

Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role

  • Extensive experience as a geological technician
  • Proficiency in database and image management systems; Excel and PowerPoint skills required
  • Proven ability to lead and train teams while maintaining high safety and quality standards
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining data integrity
  • Familiarity with geological data workflows, imaging software, and archiving systems
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to foster a productive, respectful team culture
  • Able to work in a remote setting and manage physical core shed tasks as required

The Newmont team is now recruiting for the position of Supervisor Core Shed with a competitive base salary between $103,300 - 137,700 / year, and an additional short-term incentive 15%. The expected salary range for this role is CA$103,300 - 137,700 / year . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
