About the role

Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Director of M&A, the M&A Analyst will be responsible for supporting the entire M&A team in the completion of early-stage prospect evaluation through to post-closing deal integration. This includes helping meet with business owners to evaluate alignment, conducting independent data-based valuation, preparing internal deal documents, and supporting the deal team to achieve investment committee approval.

This leadership position requires continual interactions with both internal and external business leaders to drive alignment and ensure internal M&A processes and standards are adhered. In this capacity, the M&A Analyst will have a valuable opportunity to be mentored by senior M&A personnel, ensuring constant improvement in their performance and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Preliminary Deal Evaluation: The Analyst will work with the Vencora M&A and Corporate Development team, as well as Executive leadership, to investigate opportunities to deploy capital. Analysis will involve financial modelling, including detailed IRR and return on invested capital calculations.
  • Due Diligence: The Analyst will be responsible for thoughtfully and carefully analyzing acquisition targets and coordinating with other members of the management team and third-party advisors to complete due diligence. Activities will include a deep-dive review of the target’s industry, business, and financials, including but not limited to, their competitive position, attrition, organization structure, sales, and pipeline.
  • Deal Documentation: The Analyst will help support internal and external-facing deal documents. Internally, this includes the preparation and presentation of investment memos to the Vencora Investment Committee. Externally, this includes helping prepare key terms of Indicative Offers, Letters of Intent, and purchase agreements.

Skills You Will Bring

We are looking for someone that is interested in M&A Execution, is motivated to complete project-based tasks, and has excellent attention to detail.

  • Currently enrolled in second or third year of an undergraduate business degree with excellent academic performance.
  • Have strong communication skills, professional attitude and a solid work ethic.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Analytical skills (i.e. comfortable working with large sets of data).
  • Basic financial acumen and a solid grasp of valuation principles.
  • Demonstrated interest in investing; Completion of university courses related to finance / accounting, M&A, software, or technology is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team-oriented environment.
