Wage: $31.69 - $40.01 hourly, depending on experience

At Grandview Manor, we’re dedicated to enhancing the health, safety, and independence of
our residents. We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational
Therapist to join our interdisciplinary care team.
As the Occupational Therapist, you’ll provide services to residents referred by our nursing
team, focusing on promoting mobility, preventing falls, managing pressure injuries, and
optimizing quality of life through personalized support and adaptive equipment.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform seating and mobility assessments and prescribe appropriate equipment

Coordinate funding requests through insurance or Red Cross programs
-
Maintain wheelchair and specialty mattress functionality in collaboration with
maintenance
-
Participate in pressure injury prevention via weekly wound care rounds
-
Recommend falls prevention strategies and equipment
-
Assess and provide hand splints, palm protectors, and other assistive devices
-
Provide staff education on seating, positioning, and pressure care
-
Liaise with Red Cross and local vendors for trial equipment, funding, and service
coordination
-
Manage and oversee Red Cross Special Needs program equipment lifecycle
-
Supervise and educate the Therapeutic Mobility Assistant on OT-related duties
-
Maintain clear documentation and contribute to team communication
-
Participate in ongoing education to ensure delivery of best-practice care
What You Bring:
✔ Education: BSc. or MSc. in Occupational Therapy from a CAOT/COTNS-accredited
institution
✔ Registration: Licensed and in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of
Occupational Therapists (COTNS) and CAOT
✔ Insurance: Must carry liability insurance to practice
✔ Skills:

Strong clinical reasoning and assessment abilities

Excellent communication and documentation skills

Commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork

Ability to educate and support staff in best practices
