Title: Regional Coordinator, Urban Away from Home

Salary: $66,597 - $83,246 - $91,571 per year (pay range explained below)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)

Location: Prince George, BC, located on the ancestral territories of the Lheidli T’enneh Nation – Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy – Frequent travel throughout Northern BC and occasional travel to other regions in BC, during all four seasons, are required.

About The Role As Regional Coordinator, Urban Away from Home, you will be coordinating planning, relationship-building, and communication efforts within the Regional Office, Urban and Away-from-Home team, and other FNHA departments. Your work will ensure that urban and away-from-home populations are included in our regional engagement processes. You’ll collaborate at local, regional, and provincial levels to align FNHA’s activities with those of Regional Health Authorities, Indigenous service providers, and other organizations, while supporting the integration of urban and away-from-home functions and resources to meet strategic and operational needs and foster meaningful connections across the province.

About You To be successful in this role you will have/be –

Education & Experience

  • A university degree in Health Sciences, Education, Social Services or a related field, or an acceptable combination of education, training and professional experience.
  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
  • 3-5 years of recent and relevant experience in coordinating support, relationship-building, and community/organizational development to First Nation communities and/or Indigenous services.
  • 3-5 years of recent and relevant experience in gathering, synthesizing and analyzing information and data.
  • Experience and knowledge on urban and away-from-home populations, and of traditional ceremonies and cultural practices are assets.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of community engagement, development, and the health system needs of the urban and away-from-home First Nations population.
  • Understanding of health-related issues affecting First Nations communities, both on and off reserve.
  • Familiarity with the BC First Nations political and governance landscape within various contexts, as well as First Nations perspectives on wellness.

Competencies

  • Ability to develop, document, and adapt work plans, including effective reporting and issue escalation when necessary.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to collaborate respectfully and effectively with diverse groups, including conflict management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in coordinating, designing, and facilitating meetings or gatherings, including preparing pre-reading materials, agendas, meeting minutes, and summary reports.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor presentations and materials to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to travel occasionally during all four seasons to other regions in British Columbia, with frequent travel throughout Northern BC.
  • Competence in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), with Visio proficiency as an asset.

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.

Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.

The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
