We are looking for a highly motivated, quick learning individual that would be able to transition into a Sr. Estimator role in the near future.

The Position Operates:

• Monday – Friday

• 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

• Reporting Leader: Director of Technical Services & Materials Management

• Location: Head Office: 688 Josephine Street, Wingham

Position Summary:

The Estimator is responsible for supporting the Britespan Sales Team & Dealer Network by quoting custom projects outside the scope of standard offerings. The Estimator will make use of programs such as AutoCAD and Excel to accomplish this task in a timely manner. The Estimator will be expected to collaborate with several departments to provide accurate project costing and design.

Position Qualifications:

Education & Knowledge

• Completion of a post-secondary program in a related field
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and limitations - Asset

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Ability to work under pressure
• Able to read blueprints and parts lists

Experience

• Design or business administration (or equivalent work experience)
• Previous experience in costing, design, and manufacturing
• Familiarity with machining and/or welding and fabrication - Asset
• 5 years’ experience in estimating/quoting - Asset

• Excellent English Communication Skills (both Oral and Written) internal and external from Britespan

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of our products, quality standards, and manufacturing processes

• Provides Sales Support to Britespan’s Dealer Network for projects by providing custom profiles, spacing, and costing

• Analyze project requirements and specifications

• Sketch and design custom profiles using engineering concepts to address challenges and requests from management, Dealers and Customers

• Assist Engineering with centerlines and gage maps when required

• Provide accurate and detailed costing on custom projects

• Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and expectations throughout the quoting process

• Provide analytical support for production KPI Reports

• Develop, Improve and Maintain costing models and tools for the Estimating Department

• Drive Continuous Improvement within all tasks within Estimating Department

• Other duties as assigned by management
