HCOS has an opening for an Inclusive Education (IE) Purchasing & Finance Assistant. This is a full-time, remote position, working 40 hours per week. The primary purpose of this position is to provide efficient and accurate purchasing and financial administrative support to the Inclusive Education division, ensuring that procurement and financial processes align with school policies and support inclusive learning environments.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive, manage and process invoices in timely accurate manner
- Liaise with external service providers to set up and purchase approved lessons or extra-curricular activities for students
- Prepare, send and track agreements with external service providers
- Ensure all purchases comply with school procurement policies and budgetary guidelines
- Maintain organized records of all financial transactions and purchasing documentation
- Monitoring and reconciling budgets, data collection and analysis of financial data
- Processing accounts payable and receivable
- Preparing financial reports and summaries
- Tracking expenditures against allocated budgets and flagging variances
- Assist with audits and financial reviews by providing necessary records and documentation
- Collaborate with the Inclusive Education finance team to ensure consistency and compliance with society and Ministry guidelines

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, and Drive)
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including data entry, formatting and basic formulas
- Comfortable using or learning school finance systems and software
- Ability to learn new digital tools and platforms quickly with minimal supervision
- Preferred applicant is located in British Columbia, Canada
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $23.36-$24.55 per hour
