Security Supervisor - Full Time (Burnaby, BC)
Job Description Emergency Security Management (ESM) is currently seeking a Security Supervisor in Burnaby B.C .
The Security Supervisor works closely with their team and acts as a mentor to those they supervise. The Security Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the client receives a quality service in a timely fashion. The Security Supervisor reports to the Regional Manager. The Security Supervisor helps maintain the quality of service to clients by ensuring they follow the Regional Managers directives.
Responsibilities The Security Supervisor will be responsible for providing support and supervision of people and operations and will have a regular shift pattern including night duty and weekends. This position requires operational skills in the following service lines.
- Event Security Patrol Alarm Response
- Labour Disputes Insurance Security
- Safety Compliance
Education
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in related field, accompanied with security guard or investigation training and work experience. Citizen, Permeant Resident a or work visa with at least 6 months to run.
- High School Diploma preferential or equivalent
- Basic security guard training course.
- Fluent written and spoken English, second language a benefit.
Certification or Licenses
- Possess a valid Security Guard License
- Valid full driving license (unrestricted)
- First Aid and CPR
- WHMIS, H2S Alive is an asset.
Work Experience
- 4+ years’ experience in a Security Management role.
- Excellent listening, reading and administration skills, effective communicator (verbal and written English, second languages a benefit), well organized and detail oriented.
- Fit and healthy to be able to walk unaided while on site, stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to motivate, inspire and lead a team.
- An analytical thinker with advanced problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships, customer service oriented.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of Tracktik a benefit.
- Must be willing to travel between sites.
- Dynamic reporting lines, direct report, operational and administrative to Regional Manager.
- This position will require long days, possibly night and weekend working.
- This position may require travel.
