About the role
If you have at least 5 years of legal assistant experience in a Corporate / Commercial and a Residential Real Estate practice, then the next step in your career could be with Parlee McLaws LLP in our downtown Calgary office.
You are a self-starter with high attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and excellent organizational skills to support busy practices.
Key requirements:
- Highly organized and pro-active approach to meeting deadlines while producing accurate quality work
- Substantial reliability and adaptability accompanied by a professional demeanor and conduct
- Strong client service and relationship building skills
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge MS Office Suite with knowledge of other software being an asset (e.g. Worldox, 3E Elite, ALF, CORES, SPIN2, Remindex, SpeechExec, FoxIt, etc.)
- Experience with preparation of accounts, billing, and time entry with solid understanding of basic accounting principles
Other requirements:
- Post-secondary education from a recognized Legal Assistant/Paralegal program (equivalent experience may be considered)
- Experience with document management system
- Keen attention to detail in producing accurate, high-quality work
- Effectively adapt and work with changing priorities in a high-volume work environment
- Work effectively with corporate paralegals in adhering to legal requirements and processes
- Problem-solving skills with a pro-active mindset
- Quick learner who is curious and retains knowledge
