Manager of Finance
About the role
The MD has an interim opportunity for a Manager of Finance, with the potential for a permanent position. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Manager of Finance will be responsible for all financial duties including, but not limited to, preparation of the financial plan, annual financial statements, annual municipal report and attend Council meetings as required. The individual will demonstrate leadership in asset management, budgeting, financial recording, reporting, and financial analysis. The MD is looking for an enthusiastic individual; a team player who values building relationships with their team. Tact and reasonable judgment must be exercised in dealing with others. The direction and supervision of staff is required. Considerable initiative and independent judgment must be exercised in planning and implementing work. It may be assigned by the CAO or through statute. Work is performed in accordance with statutory requirements and general policy guidelines. New or difficult matters are referred to the CAO, but decisions must be made where governing precedents are not available and errors in judgment can result in serious problems. Success is judged on the basis of results achieved and the manner used.
