The Occupational Health and Safety Division of the Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety is recruiting a Team Lead to work out of an LRWS office in the Health and Human Kinetics Unit. The Division is looking for a health and safety professional with proven supervisory experience to lead a dedicated team of Occupational Health Officers in protecting the health and safety of Saskatchewan workers. The position will require the successful candidate to manage multiple projects as required.
As the Team Lead, Health Care Team, the successful candidate will partner with the Manager to coach and supervise staff in the promotion and enforcement of the Saskatchewan Employment Act, and the associated regulations. You will work with the Manager in planning, assigning, coordinating and evaluating unit activities: assist in the management of unit budget, build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and interest groups: and create a positive, productive and engaging environment for Ministry employees. You will be responsible for regular field presence with the Health Care officers to carry out supervisory functions.
Our candidate of choice will have 3 years' experience working with the health care sector, 4 years' experience in a regulatory role, strong leadership and independent critical thinking skills as well as successful recent supervisory experience, proven analytical and problem solving skills, excellent organizational skills and the demonstrated ability to use computer software systems and to effectively apply occupational health and safety principles and strategies in the promotion and enforcement of regulations and standards. You will have strong written verbal and communication skills, as you will often interact with a variety of stakeholders.
Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained through the completion of a degree or diploma in a health care field, healthcare sector employment experience, accredited training and experience in occupational health and safety, as well as recent supervisory experience.
Some travel will be required.
