Job Description We are currently looking for a System Engineering Analyst to join our team working on the Canadian Army’s tactical network. This platform is used within their vehicles and headquarters (HQ) is called the Land Command Support System (LCSS). This role is ideal for someone passionate about communication, complex systems, problem solving and working with customers and end users. The LCSS is often referred to as a “System of Systems”, indicative of its breadth, complexity and the diversity of solutions incorporated. Our team plays a key role in the architecture and design of the System as well as the integration and testing, on behalf of DND.
The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Define and Document Capabilities in the form of Capability Descriptions and Scope Statements, Concept of Operations and Operational Use Cases based on the Vision of the Canadian Customer and the needs of the end user
- Gather requirements on Capabilities
- Provide guidance and support to the development teams for the implementation and revision of capabilities
- Identify gaps and areas of potential improvement to support the end users
- Provide support, guidance and recommendations to the stakeholder community (DND, Canadian Army)
- Provide guidance and support to the Integration and Test Team including review of test cases, resolution of test discrepancies and analysis of test results
- Support and present at meetings with internal stakeholders as well as with the stakeholder community
- Support the development and execution of engineering plans, process and schedules
- Assume responsibility, ownership, and accountability for deliverables and work products
- Assume accountability for the quality of deliverables and work products
- Assume responsibility and accountability for meeting program commitments and achieving program milestones
Qualifications
- 5+ years System Engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or applicable scientific discipline is required.
- Experience in requirements development and system design
- Experience and working knowledge of systems engineering tools including DOORS, and Team collaboration tools
- Demonstrated initiative and strong verbal and written communications skills
- The ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment, with minimum supervision
- Demonstrated capability of conducting technical analysis and documenting and communicating the results
- Demonstrated capability of meeting commitments and delivering high quality work product
- Ability to obtain to NATO clearance
It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.
