About the role

PROPAK ENERGY SERVICES, a division of Propak Systems LTD. with over 45 years’ experience designing, fabricating and constructing modularized gas and oil processing facilities, compression and power generation equipment. Propak Energy Services operates a multi branch service network across Western Canada and the Rocky Mountain States. Propak is authorized to sell and service Waukesha and Caterpillar engines as well as Ariel, Mycom, Cooper, Dresser-Rand, Gemini, Sullair and Howden compressors.

We are currently seeking a Journeyman Refrigeration Mechanic experienced in the gas processing industry. This position will also perform process plant start-ups, mechanical overhauls, and refrigerant reclaiming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General knowledge pertaining to start-up and operation of Petrochemical Process Plants
  • Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments.
  • Adjust valves according to specifications and charge system with proper type of refrigerant by pumping the specified gas or fluid into the system.
  • Test lines, components, and connections for leaks.
  • Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components.
  • Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts, and reassemble repaired systems.
  • Perform mechanical overhauls and refrigerant reclaiming.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications.
  • Keep records of repairs and replacements made and causes of malfunctions.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in the natural gas processing and/or compression servicing industry
  • Excellent administration, communication and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work in independently with limited supervision
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to work extended hours

Journeyman Level:

  • Hold a valid recognized Alberta Journeyperson Trade Certificate or a recognized trade certificate or equivalency document.
  • Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate is preferred.
  • 5 years of directly related work experience.
  • As a condition of employment, employees are required, upon hire, to sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, a Conflict of Interest Agreement and Confidentiality and Invention Agreement.
  • This position may be required to direct, coach, and mentor apprentices.
