Whistler Platinum is a locally owned and operated vacation rental management company located in the heart of Whistler, BC. We specialize in managing luxury vacation homes and delivering five-star service to both homeowners and guests. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to support the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations, with a strong focus on monthly owner statements and financial reporting.
Position Overview
Reporting to the CEO, the Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day financial activities of the business. The focus of this role includes preparing monthly homeowner statements and payouts, performing reconciliations, maintaining accurate records, and supporting regular financial reporting. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, experience in property or vacation rental accounting, and comfort working with accounting and property management systems.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Reporting
- Perform daily and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial reports for internal management review.
- Ensure the accuracy of general ledger entries and journal postings.
- Assist with year-end file preparation for external accountants.
Owner Accounting & Revenue Tracking
- Prepare and distribute monthly homeowner statements and coordinate timely payouts using our property management system.
- Reconcile homeowner revenue and expense allocations with data from reservations and operations teams.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across property management and accounting platforms and QuickBooks.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process invoices, expense entries, and vendor payments.
- Record incoming payments and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Maintain accurate records for all financial transactions.
Tax Support & Compliance
- Prepare and file required GST, PST, and Non-Resident (NR) taxes.
- Ensure accurate and organized financial documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role (CPA designation not required).
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, and cloud-based finance tools.
- Familiarity with vacation rental or property management systems is an asset.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work both independently and collaboratively.
