Job Title: Bookkeeper
Location: Montreal or Toronto, ON (Hybrid – On-site every other week)

About the Role: A client is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Part-Time Bookkeeper to support their day-to-day accounting operations. This hybrid role requires candidates to be located in Montreal or Toronto, with the ability to commute to the office every other week. The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of basic accounting principles, a high level of accuracy, and experience using accounting software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record and maintain accurate financial transactions using accounting software
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular basis
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including issuing invoices and processing payments
- Prepare and maintain financial reports and documentation
- Support basic payroll functions and assist with expense tracking
- Coordinate with accountants during month-end and year-end closing
- Ensure all financial records are kept up-to-date and compliant with internal policies
- Manage the receipt, recording, and organization of invoices, purchase orders, and payment receipts.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or basic accounting preferred
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, ADP or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Must be available to commute to the office bi-weekly
Assets (Nice to Have):
- Ability to speak and write in Chinese
- Knowledge of GAAP and basic corporate tax principles
- Familiarity with U.S. accounting policies
Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 – 5 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- On call
