Title: Health Benefits Assessor

Salary: $64,636 - $69,974 per year (pay range explained below)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)

Location: Vancouver Alberni Office - located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil- Waututh Nations Remote (Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy after the probationary period is over). Please note, this role will be relocating to our new office building in North Vancouver on Tsleil-Waututh Nation (TWN) land, south of Mount Seymour Parkway, in spring 2027

Bargaining Unit: PSAC Local 22000 (Public Service Alliance of Canada)

About The Role As Health Assessor, you will review, assess, and adjudicate First Nations Health Benefits requests. You will also process payments and client reimbursements, conduct analysis and provide recommendations regarding exceptions and appeals. Provides program information to key stakeholders. Maintains records and systems.

About You To be successful in this role you will have;

Education, Training And Experience

  • Grade 12, including completion of one year of post-secondary education, plus one (1) year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Job Skills And Abilities

  • Knowledge of First Nations social, health, economic, and political issues
  • Ability to provide information and advice directly to clients and providers
  • Ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Conflict resolution skill

You may have experience in: Health Educator, Health Benefits Claims Adjustor, Health Program Coordinator.
