About the role
Key position functions include:
- Work closely with the Senior Management and Executive Teams to establish and implement Company vision, long term plans and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with the Stream-Flo and Master Flo Senior Management Teams concerning HR strategic planning and key business issues impacting the workforce.
- Provide effective problem solving, decision making and advisory services to Senior Management Teams, Management and employees concerning human resources issues.
- Strong focus on understanding and supporting business and management’s needs.
- Strong working knowledge on benefits and compensation and the ability to work closely with Finance to ensure we are competitive both domestically and internationally.
- Oversee the ongoing development and implementation of effective human resources strategies, policies and services, with the objective of attracting and retaining a high performing workforce to meet the needs of the business.
- Work closely with the Human Resources, Payroll and Management teams and actively participate as a true working manager.
- Initiate workforce planning and organizational development strategies in response to changing business initiatives and economic conditions.
- Lead and oversee the ongoing development and implementation of effective human resources practices/services related to recruitment, retention, employee relations, total compensation, onboarding, training, rewards and recognition, communication, performance management, payroll and corrective action/progressive discipline.
- Engage, advise and collaborate on a regular basis with the Senior Management Teams, management representatives and the HR teams as issues arise impacting the workforce or individual employees.
- On an ongoing basis establish objectives and priorities for the HR and Payroll Teams and monitor progress.
- Respond to urgent or critical employee/employment issues impacting the business.
- Oversee Canadian, US and International Payroll services.
- Research and advise on compliance/best practices in varied employment jurisdictions as required (Canadian provinces, US states, international/expatriates).
- Protect Company interests by ensuring that Stream-Flo Group employment practices are compliant with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Represent Company interests when liaising/corresponding with Company legal counsel, external legal counsel, government agencies, etc.
- Liaise with and/or oversee external providers in support of Company programs/services (i.e. UKG, Synerion, etc.).
Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in a related field.
- 15 years HR experience, with minimum 3 years in a senior leadership role. Experience managing diverse HR teams.
- Proven ability to provide oversight to large organizations with multiple business lines and jurisdictions. Experience working within oil and gas or manufacturing would be an asset.
- Charted Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation, Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) designation is an asset.
- Broad range of experience in multiple HR disciplines (recruitment, compensation, employee relations, policy development, talent management, learning and development, etc.).
- Proven industry related experience in order to make sound recommendations regarding HR strategy to the Executive Team.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create clear written communications on behalf of management and/or the company.
- Proven problem solving, analytical and decision making skills. High attention to detail.
- Well organized, self-motivated.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian employment market and legislation. Strong international experience related to hiring, expat movement, visa management and related international programs is an asset.
- Prior experience managing Payroll functions is an asset.
- Strong abilities with MS and HRIS applications.
- The role will involve occasional travel.
