Position Summary

Temporary Full-Time Appendix D Support Staff, replacement contract position (Immediate need – February 16, 2026)

The International External Relations Consultant ensures that the international agent and language school partnership relations programs operate at high-performance levels. The successful candidate ensures that agents and language school partners are providing college representation that is accurate, informed, and effective to maximize the college's market potential while minimizing risk, exposure, and liability.

Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as required. It is anticipated that this position will meet the needs of the department Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with two days on-site at the Doon campus located at 299 Doon Valley Dr. in Kitchener, and three days remote. Travel to other campus locations may be required.

Responsibilities

International external relations and recruitment

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Conestoga agents and language school partners to ensure overall recruitment success and increase the conversion of qualified students
  • Track agent applications and forward them to regional Recruiters for reference checks, assessment, and possible representation
  • Run enrolment statistics, determine agent eligibility, process rewards, and troubleshoot issues
  • Review agent history and prepare new agent contractual agreements, ensuring accuracy in the terms and conditions of the agreement and the established commission structure; Review agreements with agents and respond to questions
  • Prepare, provide, and update agent welcome packages, handbooks, and training materials
  • Liaise with the Media Content Coordinator and Admissions team to coordinate the development and delivery of agent training
  • Provide regular updates to the agent network regarding program status, pre-arrival information, and new program launches
  • Investigate, document, and troubleshoot student complaints about agents and work with the recruitment team to provide solutions
  • Develop and implement an efficient system for cyclical agreement renewals, agent performance reviews, management reporting, etc.
  • In collaboration with Conestoga’s Finance and Admission teams, work to resolve agent finance and commission payment inquiries
  • In conjunction with the Recruitment and Marketing teams, coordinate and implement agent communication strategies and initiatives
  • Coordinate agent visits
  • Responsible for all aspects of the agent database

Language school partnerships and educational visits

  • Receive and coordinate applications and renewals for English language school agreements in conjunction with the Regional Recruitment Manager and academic administration
  • Conduct language school visits to facilitate pathways and deliver presentations on Conestoga programs and services, following up with language school partners to generate pathways
  • In collaboration with Managers, the International Office Vice President, and other college stakeholders, support Familiarization (FAM) tours and delegation visits
  • Research the cultural protocols of visitors and disseminate this information to stakeholders
  • Arrange logistical support, including event bookings and reservations with on and off-campus providers for facilities, equipment, rooms, catering, food service, campus or city tours, etc.

Agent performance reporting

  • Generate reports for the management team regarding agent and recruiter performance
  • Research agent engagement best practices for international markets
  • Track agent training and work with Recruitment Managers to ensure agents have the resources required to deliver for Conestoga effectively
  • Create and maintain a procedure document to ensure reports are generated consistently

Qualifications

  • Three-year diploma or degree in Business, Communications, Intercultural Relations, or a related field of study is required
  • Minimum three years of practical experience in a fact-paced office setting is required; experience in an international environment and/or organization is preferred
  • Experience assisting international organizations or newcomers to Canada is preferred
  • Previous experience working with second language speakers in a multicultural workplace setting would be considered an asset
  • Fluency in a second language is an asset
  • Ability to organize and execute international delegation meetings and visits
  • High level of intercultural intelligence and diplomacy while dealing with multicultural audiences
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize relationship building
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments and demanding situations
  • Strong analytical skills, including solid mathematical competency
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Word, Excel, and experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
  • Proficiency with large databases and handling confidential materials
  • Highly developed client relationship management skills and strong service orientation
