About the role

Our finance team is growing, and we are looking for someone who is eager to cut their teeth in a fast-paced environment and will not compromise on quality. Our team needs someone to help support our overall business with various financial tasks. As Senior Financial Analyst, you will contribute to the overall success of the organization by providing accurate financial reporting to the senior leadership team, as well as provide analytical commentary and recommendations. This individual will be a key business partner in supporting our company’s forecasting process, conducting detailed project reviews, and assisting the business in improving our working capital. This role will also be instrumental in our month end close. Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting and working closely with the Senior Director of Finance, responsibilities will include:

  • Engage with various departments within the business for proper analyses and commentary for month end reporting, including sales, operations, development, product management, and others
  • Partner with the various departments to provide support and insights into their spend/financials
  • Work with and support the shared service finance team in various areas, such as accounts receivable, procurement, financial modelling, and review of projects
  • Ensure the accuracy of key Balance Sheet accounts (review GL reconciliations and workbooks for accuracy, apply controls to prevent inappropriate account entry, etc.)
  • Provide consistent, accurate, and timely financial reporting and analysis to monitor the financial performance of our business
  • Effectively communicate and partner with upper management in many aspects of our business
  • Participate and support in internal and external audits
  • Enforce compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Coordinate internal reviews and approvals
  • Other ad hoc projects as necessary

Qualifications:

  • BS in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management
  • CPA designation or in process strongly preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered
  • Minimum of 5 years finance or accounting experience, preferably in a software industry
  • Prior experience at a software company with exposure to project/contract accounting would be considered an asset
  • Solid working knowledge of MS Office, including an advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with accounting, FP&A, and other ERP/CRM software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, NetSuite, Tipalti, Workday Adaptive Insights, Vena, Salesforce)
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal skills
  • Strong attention to detail as well as critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Timeliness on delivering commitments and the ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to gather data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and propose solutions
  • Ability to work closely with a senior management team as well as effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
