Job Summary
The Registrar’s Office (RO) is a large, multi-unit, multi-site operation involved in the entire academic experience of Dalhousie students, from recruitment and admissions through to convocation and beyond. The Registration & Academic Scheduling Team oversees the production of the University’s Academic Timetable, consisting of approximately 9,000 active lecture, lab and tutorial sections offered in 150 different subjects, as well as the University’s Approved Course Catalogue, Academic Calendar and Formal Examination Schedule. Reporting to the Assistant Registrar, Registration and Academic Scheduling, the Academic Timetable Coordinator coordinates the production of the University’s Academic Timetable each year.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate the creation of the University’s academic schedule which includes negotiating with over 80 departments to ensure that their approximately 9,000 lectures, labs and tutorials are appropriately scheduled.

Responsible for conflict resolution for the University’s academic schedule – primary contact for departmental administrators and professors when scheduling conflicts occur.

External training of departmental administrators and/or faculty members on the preparation and submission of academic scheduling details by creating and maintaining a training program for departmental academic schedulers.

Internal training and general administrative duties including training other members of the Timetable team, maintaining training support documentation, supporting the maintenance of the University’s Academic Calendar and the Scheduling units operational needs.

Maintain a thorough knowledge of all University policies and procedures pertaining to scheduling, as well as a thorough technical aptitude in all scheduling software used by the University (lnfoSilem EnCampus Suite, lnfoSilem EnCampus Enterprise, and Banner Production).
Note
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work from within Nova Scotia) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications
-
Undergraduate university degree in a related field, plus a minimum of three years’ experience in a relevant field (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).

Demonstrated experience in training or education, with strong presentation skills and familiarity with communications development.
-
Excellent decision-making, organizational, and negotiation skills along with innovative problem solving abilities.
-
Experience in a high-volume customer service area.
-
Experience with Banner Production.
Assets

Experience with lnfoSilem EnCampus software products, or similar.
