Your role

As Digital Archive Writer for Radio-Canada Libraries & Archives’ Archival Outreach team, you will be responsible for posting archive-based content across all social media accounts (Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X) according to a specific timeline or the news of the day.

You will also be expected to write archived-based content for the Radio-Canada website. You must post video, photo and audio content to the website using in-house content management tools.

You will be responsible for all aspects of the publication chain, including choosing topics, researching and selecting archive material, requesting rights clearance checks and captioning, writing copy and headlines tailored to each platform, preparing files, optimizing SEO, creating catchy thumbnails as needed, planning, and engaging with audiences. You may also be required to help with other types of archive outreach initiatives.

We are looking for someone with a passion for audiovisual archives and a knack for finding tie-ins with current events.

What you bring:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in history or equivalent
  • Two (2) or more years’ experience performing related duties

Skills:

  • Solid command of French
  • Excellent knowledge of Canadian and contemporary history
  • Broad general knowledge
  • Solid command of writing styles for digital media
  • Good knowledge of current events

Selected candidates will be tested as follows:

  • Practical test
  • Interview
