Position Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Ophthalmic Assistant will perform duties as outlined in the Eye Clinic. The position includes assisting severalophthalmologists as well as independent testing of clients for various tests.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant Course
- Demonstrated experience and competence with the following equipment: Humphrey’s Automated Perimeter, Fluorescein Angiography, Potential Acuity Meter testing, Fundus Photography, Optical Coherence Tomography, Goldmann Visual Field Perimeter, Noncon Pachymetry
- Demonstrated ability to assist in minor procedures related to the Eye Clinic, instilling drops, removing patches
- Demonstrated knowledge in assisting physicians with vision, pressures, ocular mobility, history taking and lensometry, colour vision
- Demonstrated computer experience
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new equipment
