About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced Director of QA to lead and scale our Quality Assurance function as we enter our next stage of growth. You’ll own the QA strategy, drive test automation, and elevate our quality standards across the board. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll mentor a growing team, implement scalable QA processes, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the highest level of product quality.You’ll report to the Director of Engineering and work closely with product and development teams to proactively identify, prevent, and resolve quality issues. Ultimately enabling smooth, fast, and confident releases.
What You'll Do:
- Define and lead the QA vision, roadmap, and execution aligned with business and technical goals.
- Build and manage a high-performing QA team (manual and automation testers).
- Establish team structure, workflows, and career path for QA professionals.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Architect and oversee the implementation of scalable automated test frameworks for both frontend (Angular) and backend (Java/Spring MVC).
- Establish and enforce best practices for test planning, case management, and test execution.
- Develop and track QA KPIs to continuously improve product quality and release readiness.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams to improve CI/CD and release testing pipelines.
- Identify quality risks early and ensure effective mitigation strategies.
- Drive root cause analysis for major issues and lead post-mortem processes.
- Serve as a QA evangelist across the company, promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years in QA or test engineering roles, with at least 3+ years in a QA leadership capacity.
- Proven experience designing and scaling QA processes in a high-growth startup or SaaS environment.
- Strong background in test automation and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Jasmine, Karma).
- Familiarity with both relational (MySQL) and non-relational databases.
- Experience with CI/CD, Agile methodologies, and tools like JIRA.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with Azure and/or other cloud platform.
- Exposure to GenAI, AI/ML, or data-intensive systems.
- Background in DevOps, performance testing, or security testing.
