About the role
This position is located in Hay River, NT The Administrative Assistant, Content Coordinator provides confidential administrative support services to the Corporation, including support to the President & CEO, Chief Financial Officer and additional Senior Leadership Team members, as well as other NTPC employees.
- Maintain a list of Action Items and assist various senior leaders to meet obligations as agreed for various groups including Board of Directors, Governance Committees and Senior Leadership.
- Organize and finalize agendas and take minutes at meetings as required by the Corporation. Follow up on action items to ensure flow of progress and deliverables from meetings.
- Prepare cover papers for Board agenda items and manage on time Board material preparation by tracking assignments and submitted materials.
- Develop and maintain various calendars of events (with milestones for deliverables) including such things as Board and Audit meeting dates, Legislative Assembly session dates, annual GNWT filing requirements, annual PUB filing requirements and other key dates or events that will assist Divisions in planning their workload and meeting commitments.
- Assist in the management of the Ministerial Briefing (MBN) process for the Divisions to ensure on time delivery of materials. Solicit input for new briefing notes and confirm ongoing relevance of existing notes to keep the information on topic and noteworthy.
- Collection of company credit card reconciliations and reallocation of expenses when necessary.
- Management of the finance calendars and flow of progress. Ownership of the finance Information Screen ensuring information displayed is kept up to date.
- Work closely with the marketing and communications teams to provide photographs and content for social media and corporate presentations. Facilitate content management internal and external websites to ensure the corporation’s information is current and professionally presented. Provide feedback on ease of use and access to information for internal and external websites.
- Other duties as required.
- Diploma in Office or Business Administration with five (5) or more years' related office experience including administrative, communications and marketing experience is required. Equivalencies may be considered.
- Finance or accounting experience is an asset.
- Proven experience in managing content for social media platforms and websites.
- Advanced computer word processing and spreadsheet skills with the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to maintain the confidentiality of the Corporation.
- Must have tact and diplomacy to deal with and respond to inquiries from the general public, customers, politicians, and contractors.
- Requires close attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to manage pressure to meet deadlines.
- Must have ability to recognize and act on urgent matters.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work with little direction, while managing multiple tasks and frequent interruptions.
- Must possess excellent analytical skills and structure problem-solving abilities.
- Must be able to effectively communicate requests for information to a wide-range of employees.
- Requires interpersonal skills for working in a team environment.
- Requires the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license is required.
- Must undergo a satisfactory criminal records check & provide positive references.
This position is excluded from the bargaining unit. Salary for this position ranges from $39.03/hr - $47.46/hr. plus location and accommodation allowances of approximately $8,023 per annum. We offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes health and dental benefits, long-term disability, life insurance, paid sick days and a defined benefits pension plan. This position is located in Hay River, NT. Relocation assistance may be provided.

The Corporation’s systems serve a population of approximately 43,000 in an area of 1.3 million square kilometers. Many of the communities NTPC serves are only accessible by air, barge or winter road.
