What to Expect:
The Control Tower Specialist coordinates domestic inbound and outbound activities to and from Nestlé warehouses, factories, and Co-Manufacturing facilities to optimize space and labor. This role will manage the day-to-day Control Tower operations by creating load plans in TM-SAP, tracking and measuring performance, maintaining and communicating priority load. Also, escalate all issues related to stock availability, and overflow requirements to avoid extra costs in outside storage and detention/demurrage charges from carriers.

A day in the life of a Control Tower Specialist:

  • Day-to-day timely operational execution - highlight risks to customer service, transportation &

warehousing teams

  • Prioritizing all inbound loads identified by control tower tools and DSP
  • Communication of known transportation-related delays to various internal collaborators
  • Ad hoc Accessorial validation / critical issue according to the Accessorial review strategy
  • Forecast Carrier tracking of loads and issue of carrier non-compliance
  • Holiday Plan published and followed (i.e. align orders to shipment cycle
  • Ensure warehouse capacity is not exceeded by developing inbound receiving schedules with DSP input
  • Timely follow up of all rush / off schedule customer requests
  • Reduction in compliance fines by proactively working with customer service to identify late orders to

customers

  • Make recommendations to change inbound appointments based on stock requirements and availability

Role Requirements

  • Postsecondary education in supply chain management and experience in customer service/ transportation/ warehousing and demand & supply planning areas
  • Operational knowledge on order to cash/warehousing processes, key variants and standard methodologies
  • Risk management skills
  • Knowledge of key performance measurements in Customer Service, transportation, warehousing and demand supply planning
  • Ability to monitor real-time performance and call out future issues throughout the organization
  • Strong knowledge of end to end Order to Cash and Shipment Processes
  • Knowledge of End to End Payment Processes and Data Management principles
  • Broad knowledge of business areas e.g. demand & supply planning, transportation, physical logistics

Preferred Skills

  • Strong understanding of SAP System (R/3 and TM)
