Job Title: Senior Data Visualist
Location: Remote (Canada)
Duration: 12 Months (with possible extension)

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, Normal Business Hours
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Visualist to lead data visualization initiatives and deliver impactful, interactive dashboards and reports that drive informed business decisions. The ideal candidate will excel at storytelling with data and have extensive experience with tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead large-scale data analysis and visualization projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables within tight deadlines.
- Collaborate with management, business analysts, project managers, data engineers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into BI solutions.
- Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau and Power BI.
- Apply human-centered design principles to create compelling data visualizations and narratives.
- Ensure data integrity, monitor quality, and address any issues across data sources.
- Perform query plan analysis, optimize performance, and configure BI tools for efficiency.
- Provide training and mentorship on best practices in data visualization, dashboard design, and analytics storytelling.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning.
- Prepare written and oral presentations of methodologies, results, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Data Visualist, Data Visualization Specialist, or similar role.
- At least 3 years of recent experience in data storytelling, creating compelling narratives for decision-making.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality visualizations with at least 5 successful projects in the last 2 years.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Tableau and/or Power BI.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database concepts with at least 3 years of experience.
- Experience with human-centered visualization design principles (3+ years).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Familiarity with Canadian data privacy regulations (PHIPA, PIPEDA, HIPAA) and data security best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities demonstrated by resolving complex business challenges
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $27.35-$70.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
