Position Overview

Associated Ambulance is currently seeking qualified Advanced Care Paramedics (ACP) to join our team within the Cold Lake Stations. This permanent full-time position offers a predictable and balanced rotation of 12-hour shifts, two day shifts and two evening shifts, followed by four days off. As an ACP with Associated Ambulance, you will be an essential part of our emergency medical response team, providing vital pre-hospital care and life-saving interventions to the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient conditions to determine the extent of injury or illness and immediate care requirements.

  • Administer pre-hospital emergency medical care, including patient stabilization for ambulance transportation.

  • Monitor vital signs, assess blood glucose levels, and perform other diagnostic procedures.

  • Execute advanced life support procedures such as intubation and cardiac pacing.

  • Work collaboratively with emergency medical personnel, emergency communications officers, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

  • Valid ACP practice permit meeting Alberta EMS practice requirements
  • Current Alberta Class IV driver’s license
  • Up-to-date certifications, including:
    • MCP (Medical Communications Protocols)

    • PDIC (Professional Driver Improvement Course)

Union ACP Retention Incentive Program
We are pleased to offer a retention incentive program for Union Advanced Care Paramedics (ACP). Eligible employees may qualify for the following bonuses upon completion of continuous service:

  • 1-Year Commitment: $5,000 retention bonus

  • 2-Year Commitment: $12,000 retention bonus

  • 3-Year Commitment: $17,000 retention bonus

Additional Details

  • This position is subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the collective agreement.

  • All PFT positions are subject to a 3-month probationary period.

  • Multiple positions may be awarded from this posting.
