Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and growth-minded Finance Manager to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial strength and strategic direction of a multi-division organization spanning agriculture, aviation, and emerging business lines. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in financial operations and reporting, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is ready to step into a future Director of Finance position.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with ASPE

  • Communicate key financial results and trends to internal and external stakeholders, including department leaders, CFO, CEO, COO, VP

  • Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights that influence decision-making

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic initiatives

  • Operational Finance Oversight

  • Lead general accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close

  • Coordinate with external auditors, bankers, and tax advisors to ensure compliance and facilitate information requests

  • Analyze sales forecasts, direct labor and overhead rates, and other key cost drivers to support pricing and profitability

  • Strategic Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with business leaders to evaluate the financial impact of projects including pricing reviews, contract negotiations, inventory planning, and capital access

  • Participate in strategic planning sessions and performance reviews with executive leadership

  • Provide industry trend analysis and assess potential impacts on business units and investment decisions

  • Process Improvement & Systems

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and timeliness

  • Deploy continuous improvement tools for front office and manufacturing operations

  • Support ERP enhancements, financial automation initiatives, and dashboard/report development

  • Refine and track KPIs to align finance with broader organizational goals

  • Insurance, Risk & Compliance

  • Oversee analysis of annual insurance renewals for property, liability, civil aviation, cargo, and worker’s compensation

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness

  • Leadership & Development

  • Supervise and mentor finance team members, fostering a high-performance, accountable culture

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and represent finance on company-wide projects

  • Prepare to transition into Director-level responsibilities through mentorship, strategic exposure, and operational ownership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA preferred)

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting leadership roles, preferably in multi-entity environments

  • Strong understanding of ASPE and regulatory compliance; experience with IFRS/GAAP is an asset

  • Proven experience in financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and operational analysis

  • Proficiency with ERP systems and financial tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, NetSuite)

  • Strong business acumen, communication skills, and leadership potential
