ROLE
The Building Automation Technician is responsible to liaise with Property Managers, Staff & Contractors., as well as Install, Commission and Program Building Automation Systems and carry out HVAC Troubleshooting, Preventative and Corrective Maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Monitor Energy Management Systems in all client buildings.
- Ability to operate HVAC Systems.
- Assist in programming, commissioning and trouble-shooting of Building Energy
- Management Systems.
- Support operations by assisting in-house and third-party Technicians in the field.
- Support our Customers by providing telephone and computer assistance.
- Other duties as assigned to meet Company objectives.
REQUIREMENTS
- 2-4 year technical degree plus technical training/certifications would be an asset
- Knowledge of HVAC System components such as Air Handlers, Boilers, Chillers, and
- Variable Frequency Drives.
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Field Experience in commissioning or service an asset.
- Exceptional problem solving, organizational and time management skills are essential
- Excellent Customer Services skills.
- Certificate in Building Environmental Systems (BES/BSET) or related program would be an asset.
- This position will require travel within the Greater Toronto Area – a valid Ontario license and reliable vehicle will be necessary for site visits.
- Previous experience in handling confidential or sensitive information.
- Strong organizational, time management and multitasking skills.
- High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Frequent travel to job sites is required.
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Overtime as required.
- Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required.
