Job Title: Parts Technician/Purchaser

Location: Grande Prairie, AB

The Parts Technician/Purchaser manages and dispenses parts inventories, and is responsible for the day-to-day stock handling, identifying and cataloguing of parts and assemblies, ordering, receiving, inspecting, and sorting of parts. They will also help enter and close out work orders along with the overall implementation of the CMMS program.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Order parts for the shop and field repairs. Includes mobile machinery, truck and trailer and specialized equipment.
  • Use the company’s PO request system to purchase parts and supplies.
  • Record and monitor parts that are on order, expected delivery and arrival on site dates;
  • Coordinate with the site maintenance team for required parts and what needs to be ordered for preventive and reactive maintenance;
  • Responsible for parts inventory and ensure parts inventory are at required levels;
  • Request quotes from parts vendors and evaluate and recommendations on where to purchase parts considering economics, quality of parts, and expected timeline
  • Coordinate with vendors and arrange pick up of parts as needed;
  • Follow up on parts order and do necessary coordination to ensure timely delivery of parts to site;
  • Utilize company CMMS program to accurately track maintenance, parts, and scheduling of all related resources/assets.
  • Interpreting information from the field to determine required parts/components. Able to source parts from incomplete or non-existent resources.
  • Assist in updating company parts documentation along with CMMS records.
  • Perform other general functions as may be requested;

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Extensive experience (typically 3+ years) in a similar role within a heavy equipment, industrial process, or truck and trailer environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Able to work through problems without standard processes already in place.
  • Past experience with CMMS program(s).
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Self-starter with the ability to proactively manage workload;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug, alcohol and fit suitability testing
  • Class 5 Driver’s License with clean driving record. This must be presented as part of the application process.

Early in 2022, Source assumed all operations, distribution, and sale of domestic frac sand from a facility in Peace River, AB. This transaction provided Source with the opportunity to integrate Peace River frac sand into Source's leading distribution network resulting in low-cost production with significant logistical advantage and ensures efficiency of supply for our customers while expanding the company's footprint and product offerings as well.
