Who We Need We’re looking for a creative and motivated Graphic Design Intern to join our Marketing & Communications team. This internship is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, collaborative environment while contributing to projects that support brand awareness, product promotion, internal and external communications.
As a Graphic Design Intern, you’ll assist in creating visual content across various platforms and channels, learn about brand standards, and support the execution of marketing campaigns. You’ll work closely with experienced designers and cross-functional teams to bring ideas to life.
What You Will Do
- Support the design and layout of traditional and digital marketing & communications content and channels including internal communications (intranet, e-mail and SharePoint sites), social media, digital ads, presentations, infographics and print.
- Assist in preparing design briefs, mockups, and storyboards under guidance.
- Act as brand champion to help ensure brand consistency across all visual content.
- Use accessibility tools and liaise with services to ensure content is Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) compliant.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas.
- Learn and follow the creative production process, including preparing files for print and digital use.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand project goals and provide design support.
- Up to date with design/digital technology, industry trends, and accessibility requirements, to make suggestions for new design applications and features.
- Champion diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging across all channels and creative outlets.
What You Will Bring
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a post-secondary program in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of design principles including typography, layout, and color theory.
- Strong experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Figma is an asset.
- Familiar with or willing to learn MarTech tools such as Dialog Insight.
- Interest in digital design and content creation.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work on multiple projects.
- Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingualism is an asset.
