About the Position

The People & Culture Team is currently seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join our team. The Human Resources Specialist will provide essential support across payroll, benefits, and day-to-day HR operations. Working closely with the People & Culture team, this role assists in preparing payroll data, responding to employee inquiries, supporting benefits administration, and maintaining data integrity across multiple systems. The specialist also contributes to reporting and analytics efforts that help drive operational efficiency and informed decision-making.

People & Culture is part of our Corporate Services Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records across HRIS, payroll, and timekeeping systems (ADP, Celayix, SharePoint).
  • Providing general support for the People & Culture team by responding to employee questions through the shared HR inbox, escalating issues as needed.
  • Supporting onboarding/offboarding tasks, including preparing documentation and ensuring data is correctly entered into systems.
  • Assisting in gathering, reviewing, and preparing payroll inputs for processing in ADP.
  • Supporting the payroll team in reconciliation and troubleshooting of payroll discrepancies.
  • Helping prepare payroll-related reports and documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
  • Assisting in day-to-day benefits administration by entering employee changes, preparing enrollment forms, and updating benefits data in relevant systems.
  • Coordinating with the People Business Partner and external vendors to help ensure accurate records and employee support.
  • Supporting annual benefits renewals and related communications, as needed.
  • Preparing and updating routine workforce and payroll reports using Excel and other tools.
  • Supporting data validation and ensuring consistency across systems.
  • Contributing to ad hoc data analysis requests from HR and Finance teams.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 2-3 years of experience in HR and/or payroll support roles.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, MACRO); familiarity with ADP Workforce Now, Celayix, and SharePoint is an asset.
  • Detail-oriented skills with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Experience with Canadian payroll and/or benefits administration is preferred.
