Specific Accountabilities:

  • Following the guidelines of the EarlyON Child and Family Centre and the Lambton College EarlyON Centre’s policies and procedures manual, the incumbent plans and implements stimulating in-person and virtual learning experiences, that reflect pedagogy in HDLH for children 0-6 years, parents and caregivers attending EarlyON programs;
  • Facilitates in-person and virtual workshops for parents/caregivers based on current research and best practices, in response to the needs of families and our community.
  • Communicates and interacts with students on placement.

About the Position:

This is a regular part time (RPT) support staff Bargaining Unit position reporting to the Manager, EarlyON Child and Family Centre, working 24 hours per week (including some evenings and Saturdays) at an hourly rate of $26.46

Under the direction of the Manager, EarlyON Child and Family Centre, following the EarlyON guidelines established by the Ministry of Education, the County of Lambton and the Lambton College EarlyON Child and Family Centre's policies and procedures , the incumbent plans and implements early years programs and safe environments for children and families to play and learn.

**The successful candidate must provide a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check as a condition of employment.

Qualifications:

  • Early Childhood Education Diploma and a registered member in good standing with the College of ECEs are required;
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates required;
  • Minimum of two years post diploma training as an Early Childhood Educator in an EarlyON Centre or in a licensed childcare setting;
  • Experience working with adults;
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written skills in order to communicate effectively with the children, staff, parents and public;
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team;
  • Able to bend, stoop and lift materials and to move furniture or equipment to prepare for programming needs.
