DEPARTMENT: WELDING EFFECTIVE DATE: 2025.07.24
STATUS: Hourly – Bargaining Unit CLOSING DATE: 2025.07.30
SUMMARY: This position reports to the Supervisor of the department. The incumbent ensures that product is welded to process, quality & required efficiency levels.
ROLE:

Performs the running of the equipment set up by others or by themself
-
Performs required quality checks to ensure product is in compliance and in specification
-
Notifies Group Leader and/or Supervisor(s) of product defects or other serious occurrences
-
Documents and records all necessary information/data as per work cards and other company requirements
-
Performs equipment operational checks
-
Performs finish/cosmetic welds on product show surface
-
Performs proper housekeeping, clean-up and 5 S requirements
-
Performs all duties according to safety standards and company policies
-
Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time
DESIRED SKILLS:
Essential
- Able to weld all B category and four A category test welds
- 3+ years of MIG welding experience
- Capable of finishing/cosmetic welding
- Able to set-up and maintain own equipment
- Blueprint reading
- Good mathematical skills
Preferred
-
TIG & stainless steel experience an asset
-
Pressure vessel MIG welding would be an asset
-
Computer literate
-
Blue print reading
-
Capable of finish welding
REQUIREMENTS:
-
Min. grade 12 or equivalent education
-
Must pass both written and practical weld test
-
Fluent in English
VACANCIES: 1 Afternoon Shift (3:30pm – 12:00 am)
RATE: $28.71
- Subject to assessment of skills and qualifications by Active following a 90 working days probationary period
- Shifts may vary
- Shift Premium where applicable
