As a key member of the Canadian Leadership Team, the Senior Procurement Manager will lead the Procurement function on site in the negotiation and management of contracts and suppliers and to support in the management of projects to deliver the most competitive overall cost of supply for Packaging, Ingredients and Indirects (inc. Spare Parts)
This role is at the heart of driving our business capability and building a fantastic environment for all our colleagues on our brand new site in Canada.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Implementation of Hilton Services Procurement tenders and contracts, working with the Heads of Procurement leads across Packaging, Ingredients and Indirects
- Ownership of tender process for defined own categories across Packaging, Ingredients and Indirects to create value and reduce risk
- In conjunction with the Hilton Services Procurement team, sourcing new suppliers for new, compliant materials and working with approved suppliers
- Manage supplier relationships at a local level, including performance management
- Work with the Procurement Director, Head of Procurement, Head of Packaging and suppliers to deliver cost out initiatives and projects across the site
- Identify, manage and deliver a pipeline of own cost reduction, sustainability and legislation initiatives in conjunction with relevant site teams
- Understand key legislation in relation to the goods and services being procured
- Support site trials of new materials across Packaging, Ingredients and Indirects with relevant site teams such as Ops and NPD
- Support in the management of R&D / Innovation Projects with site NPD and Commercial teams
- Attend customer facing meetings to assist with the procurement function
KEY EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Experienced procurement specialist with a degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate subject
- The ability to travel in order to visit suppliers and sites
- Excellent team working abilities
- Excellent people skills
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role at a similar level is required
- Able to understand of the wider Procurement industry and the economy in order to identify emerging trends & challenges
