The Role

As an IT Intern, you will gain extensive knowledge through supporting a range of technological operations. The IT Intern will organize inventory, prepare and configure corporate devices, provide automation script support, and gain hands-on exposure to a variety of platforms through the Google workspace and Windows platforms.

  • This is a fantastic opportunity for a current or graduating University student who is interested in building a career in development technology, support services, and IT administration.

Schedule

  • Must be available for an in-office day shift role out of the office in Kitchener, ON;
  • Monday to Friday, with workday accommodations as required.

Pay

  • $22/hr

Responsibilities

  • Assist with organizing, tracking, and setting up inventory of the IT Department equipment (laptops, phones, accessories, etc.);
  • Help with wiping and preparing devices (phones, laptops, etc.) for redeployment or transfer;
  • Support device configuration tasks, including initial setup and user preparation for various hardware (Windows, iPhone/Android);
  • Work within the Google Workspace platform, including setting up and managing Google Groups, spreadsheets data, and user permissions;
  • Assist with basic Google script automation and scripting tasks to support internal IT processes;
  • Perform data-entry and documentation related to IT inventory and configuration procedures;
  • Provide general technical support to IT staff and additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Coursework or hands-on experience in an IT support or administrative capacity is preferred;
  • Knowledge of various IT systems, software, and administrative processes is preferred;
  • Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary University IT, Computer Programming, or Technological Development program;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and priorities;
  • Organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-pace environment;
  • Strong technological skills in Windows, iPhone/Android, Google, and Microsoft;
  • Ability to reliably commute to Kitchener, ON for work.
