Who we are seeking:

SB is looking for someone to balance out her dedicated support team. SB is fun to work with which is why she has so many fantastic long term staff. She lives with a cat and has a roommate. SB appreciates a balance of fun, quiet and healthy activity. She enjoys movies, theatre and sailing, just to name a few of her interests. On the weekends, SB may attend family functions.

SB is usually a quiet communicator and uses a pictorial book to communicate with you. She also uses eye movement and body language to let you know what she needs. It takes a bit of time to learn her communication style but once you do it is easy to communicate with her.

You will help SB with all her personal care. She has a ceiling lift to help with transfers. SB also has a feeding tube. SB's team helps her get to appointments and any other activities during the day.

All training is provided.

Class 4 Driver's License is required.

Rate of Pay

$24.50/hour to $26.65/hour; Asleep overnight (10PM to 4AM) $18.40/hour to $18.85/hour; Awake overnight (4AM to 8AM) $20.20/hour to $22.60/hour

Probation

3 Months

Preferred Training or Experience

  • Supported someone in the community
  • Knowledge of computers and adaptive equipment
  • Experience with lifts and transfers or willing to learn
  • Comfortable in professional settings

Specific Training or Experience Required

Ability to motivate, encourage and engage the interests of others; Supporting people who get anxious ; Computer proficiency (email, Word, internet usage)

Expected Hours of Work

6:30pm Saturdays to 6:30pm Sundays

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.50-$26.65 per hour
