Job Summary:
Reporting to the Customer Service Centre Manager.
A Dispatcher is a professional who ensures that everything runs smoothly by coordinating with customers, providing precise logistics for drivers to follow along on their routes, and coordinating delivery times. Dispatchers are the point of contact for drivers and have all the information needed to make deliveries.
This candidate exhibits a high attention to detail, retention of information, strong multitasking, overall dependability, ability to remain composed during high-demand situations and works well within a team environment.
Knowledge of Alberta; rural and major city center’s navigation is required.
Any additional tasks which may be required and will be trained.
Major Responsibilities:
- Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and record significant information
- Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions
- Receive and dispatch trucks and operators
- Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance
- Use radio, phone or computer to send trucks and operators, to appropriate locations, in order to provide services to emergency services, accounts and the general public
- Provide field units with information about orders, traffic, obstacles and requirements
- Enter data in computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities and other information
- Always Demonstrating safety leadership and safe work practices
- Working in accordance with City Wide Towing Inc. policies and procedures
- Monitor all methods of communication, Phones, E-mails, and client portals
- Conduct any required administration as outlined by customer service lead or customer service manager
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement to lead and management
Education, Experience, Required Skills/Competencies:
- Proven experience as dispatcher or relevant position
- Minimum 4+ years Customer service experience
- Fast typing with experience in data entry
- Solution-based analysis
- Knowledge of procedures and guideline for emergency situations
- Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
- Active listener with excellent communication skills
- Sound judgement and critical thinking
- Basic understanding of business administration

Basic/Required Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
- Reasonable speed and accuracy in processing verbal information; information retention
- Proficiency with various computer programs including but not limited Microsoft applications, GPS- Geotab, Merchant payment processing, client web portals
- Valid Driver’s License. Must have reliable transportation, as the office location is not accessible by public transportation.
- Legally Authorized to Work in Canada with no Restrictions
Working conditions/Physical Demands: City Wide Towing Inc. is a 24/7, 365 business operation. Shifts are flexible. Shifts will align with business needs. Scheduling can be discussed with successful candidate
· Work will be conducted indoors
· Part of training will require time spent in the field with operations
The compensation offered will be based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies, while also considering internal equity.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
