About the role

Some of what you will do:

The Sr. Analyst, Off-Shelf Merchandising & Allocations plays a critical role in shaping and executing our off-shelf merchandising strategy, with a strong emphasis on optimizing product visibility and driving sales through strategic placement and store allocations.

Reporting directly to the Manager, Off-Shelf, this role will analyze customer behavior, sales performance, and market trends to inform both assortment decisions and store allocations, with a growing focus on off-shelf execution. The analyst will also support the ongoing refinement of assortments and space distribution using performance insights and cross-functional feedback.

A key element of the role is supporting the allocation process for off-shelf programs, helping to ensure the right product gets to the right stores based on store format, sales potential, and space availability. The Sr. Analyst will also manage and evolve the Pocket Guide, ensuring that stores have clear, accurate, and timely information to support flawless execution.

This role is integral to the broader Space Planning team’s vision of becoming a data-driven organization, powered by best-in-class tools and retail planning processes.

You’ll serve as a key connector between Merchandising, Supply Chain, Marketing and Operations, ensuring alignment across teams and supporting the success of both inline and off-shelf programs in-store.

Specifically, You Will:

  • Support the execution and optimization of off-shelf merchandising programs, ensuring alignment with category strategy and store-level execution capabilities
  • Own the store-level allocation process for off-shelf programs, ensuring product quantities are aligned with store format, sales potential, and display capacity
  • Collaborate with Merchandising and Supply Chain to develop and maintain allocation models that support effective product flow and maximize sell-through of featured programs
  • Manage and maintain the Pocket Guide to ensure stores have clear, accurate, and timely direction for both inline and off-shelf programs
  • Build a strong understanding of product attributes and merchandising principles to inform product placement decisions both inline and off-shelf
  • Analyze large data sets to identify trends, develop insights, and make recommendations that improve off-shelf program performance Lead the development and delivery of reporting and performance metrics related to space productivity, clearance placement, and off-planogram sell-through

Some of what you need:

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Retail Management, Analytics, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered
  • 3+ years of experience in space planning, merchandising, category management, or retail analytics, preferably in a multi-store retail environment
  • Experience working with planogram software (ie. JDA/Blue Yonder) and retail reporting tools
  • Familiarity with store-level allocation processes and merchandising execution across varied store formats
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., Merchandising, Supply Chain, Store Operations) to drive aligned outcomes
  • Demonstrated expertise in merchandising, store-level allocations, analytics, assortment optimization, and space/store planning
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven mindset
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence without authority across teams such as Merchandising, Supply Chain, Marketing and Operations
  • Skilled at translating complex data into actionable insights and presenting them clearly to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments, with a proven ability to adapt to shifting priorities and business needs
  • Solid understanding of category management fundamentals and their application in retail planning
  • Demonstrated ability to self-learn new systems, tools, and processes as the role and team capabilities evolve
