As a Store Supervisor you will be reporting to the Purchasing Manager where you'll be the driving force behind our inventory management, ensuring that all essential supplies and equipment are procured, stored, and distributed efficiently. You'll play a crucial role in supporting our Maintenance and Operations teams, making sure they have everything they need to keep things running smoothly. In addition to that, you'll lead a dedicated team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment in our Plant Stores. Join us and make a significant impact on our success!

In this role you can expect to

  • Maintain inventories to supply Maintenance and Production as required through the SAP process.

  • Ensure direct reports are appropriately trained in stores procedures, safety, BMS, and environmental controls, adhering to Kruger environmental policy and legal requirements, and reporting all environmental incidents and hazards.

  • Oversee the development of employees to increase competency, understanding of processes, and accountability for performance, providing direct daily supervision to ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the stores department.

  • Contribute to the efficient operation of the organization by ensuring that materials and services supplied to Kruger Products are competitively priced.

  • Lead safety initiatives, including maintaining safety observations, ensuring the use of PPE, and promoting daily safety practices and habits.

  • Schedule and coordinate vacations and proper staffing levels of stores crews, including review and approval of time entry.

  • Communicate goals and objectives, ensure adherence to company policy, administer corrective action when appropriate, promote positive employee relations, and review employee performance.

  • Initiate and authorize taxation and customs payments pertaining to equipment, chemicals, and Stores Inventory materials, ensuring compliance with current Federal and Provincial sales tax regulations and customs rulings.

  • Assist requestors from Production and Maintenance in obtaining price, delivery, and usage information for new items; calculate required inventories, and submit requests per the new material approval process.

  • Participate in major negotiations for purchases within areas of responsibility, sometimes carrying through negotiations to conclusion and making recommendations to the Purchasing Manager.

  • Supervise all MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) scrap disposal to ensure efficient and compliant handling of materials.

  • Prepare and manage the Stores Department Budget, ensuring alignment with organizational financial goals and cost control measures.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field is preferred.

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a stores/procurement related field in a manufacturing (preferably paper related) environment, additionally prefer 3-5 years supervisory experience.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and provide consultation, coaching, facilitation, and/or teaching with employees, peers, and other managers.

  • Ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment, anticipate production needs, and drive improvement opportunities.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and with production management.

  • Ability to plan, organize, execute, and work toward specific goals and objectives.

  • Ability to adapt to new situations and promote change and growth as key to sustained success.

  • Ability to be on call.

  • Experience with office procedures and methods, including computer systems such as Microsoft Office, SAP, applicable CMMS, and other applicable software and databases.

  • Understanding and experience with effective conflict resolution.
