About the role
GFL (Green for Life) Environmental is expanding its Talent Acquisition team and is searching for a Field Talent Acquisition Partner to be based out of our Vaughan corporate office.
This role would oversee the entire recruitment lifecycle, including the review, screening, and recommendation of suitable candidates for our solid waste and recycling line of business. Acting as a strategic partner to the business units you support, you will spearhead key initiatives within your designated regions. You will be tasked with cultivating relationships with local communities along with our operations to identify top-tier talent.
In this role you will gain exposure to Field Recruitment, supporting scaling front line business operations throughout your region, while also supporting various HR and Talent projects on occasion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full cycle recruiting by partnering with field operations leadership to determine staffing needs within an assigned territory.
- Review and qualify applicant resume in accordance with hiring manager's needs.
- Conduct preliminary phone interviews to assess talent fit for teams.
- Coordinate phone, virtual and in-person interviews between top candidates and hiring teams.
- Coordinate appropriate assessments as needed.
- Making recommendations on hiring decisions.
- Create and extend offer letters.
- Use traditional and non-traditional resources to attract quality candidates, such as career fairs, community networking events, and more.
- Manage college and university partnership programs.
- Organizing pre-employment screening for prospective employees.
- Create and develop sourcing strategies as needed.
- Partner with HR to assist with internal employee transfer process.
- Develop and maintain an excellent relationship with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the achievement of staffing goals.
- Work with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations within your region.
- Manage current candidate activity in our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Workday.
Requirements:
- College or University degree in Human Resources preferred.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in full cycle recruiting, with strong transferable experience across operational industries preferred.
- Must have a valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle.
- Weekly travel to facilities across GTA and Southern ON required.
- Workday Experience preferred.
- Strong computer literacy, including effective working skills of Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of employment standards, employee relations, benefits, and onboarding.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Strong time management and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems.
- Strong ethical judgment and commitment to confidentiality.
