About The Opportunity The Health Support Aide is part of a collaborative healthcare team that will support clients who access Public Health Services. The role may include routine health and clinic navigational support, basic client care, Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) support, preparing workspaces, preparing and maintaining an inventory of equipment and supplies, providing post-immunization observation support and other support functions. The role includes travel on the Public Health Mobile Unit (van).

About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade 12 education required
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods training an asset
  • Current BCLS or CPR training an asset
  • Demonstrated physical ability to lift and transfer heavy loads (more than 18kg) required
  • Well-developed interpersonal, teamwork, oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated client-focused, customer service and diversity-relevant approaches to care and work
  • Demonstrated communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Competencies in other languages are an asset
  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to change
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer and phone applications for Microsoft Word, Excel, OneDrive, and Outlook
  • Valid Nova Scotia Class 5 driver's license and daily access to a reliable vehicle for work travel. Required to work at multiple sites and travel between various community locations throughout Nova Scotia

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Shifts include shiftwork and rotation to the hours

Compensation And Benefits $20.74 - $22.10 Hourly
