Job Information

The Western Arctic Research Centre (WARC) Logistics Coordinator reports to the Manager, WARC Logistics and Facilities. The Coordinator contributes to the effective operation of the WARC research and logistics programs by coordinating logistical, technical, financial and administrative services for the Manager, WARC Logistics and Facilities and the WARC staff. The incumbent is the first point of contact for the public and facility users, which includes representatives from local organizations, research organizations, government agencies, and both Canadian and international universities. The incumbent manages information dissemination, regarding the availability of services, accommodations, and equipment at WARC and in the surrounding Beaufort Delta region.

  • Organization and administrative skills.
  • Highly organized and able to work under short, pressure filled timelines.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and team working skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial administration procedures and principles.
  • An ability to organize and plan workplace schedule.
  • Proven skills in self-motivation and initiative.
  • Proven ability to be adaptable and flexible.
  • Thorough knowledge of Beaufort Delta region and communities.
  • An ability to work independently and a part of a team with minimal supervision.

Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:

  • Completion of an office administration diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years' experience in an administrative support role, or equivalent work experience.
  • Background experience in database management.
  • Valid class five driver's license.
