About Us:

CSVAC is a dynamic, welcoming, and inclusive hub that supports older adults (50+) in living active, engaged, and meaningful lives. Our programming celebrates diversity, wellness, creativity, and connection.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program & Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for developing and overseeing engaging programs and events, recruiting and supporting volunteers, and ensuring a positive experience for members and community participants.

Key Responsibilities:

Programs & Events

  • Develop and evaluate a range of programs, workshops, and social events
  • Coordinate program schedules, instructors, and space logistics
  • Collaborate on marketing content and digital calendar updates
  • Support seasonal decorating, multicultural and community celebrations

Volunteer Coordination

  • Recruit, train, and support a diverse group of volunteers
  • Maintain volunteer records and manuals
  • Organize volunteer appreciation events and ongoing recognition
  • Provide mentorship to summer students and practicum placements

Community Engagement

  • Strengthen partnerships with local organizations and community groups
  • Support fundraising and outreach initiatives
  • Attend staff and committee meetings as required

Qualifications:

  • Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in program coordination and/or volunteer management
  • Experience in the non-profit sector and/or with older adults is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with social media and databases
  • Current First Aid (CPR-C + AED) and Food Safe Level 1
