Job Description:

On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is looking for a skilled Identity Architect for a 6-month contract to support a discovery project focused on replacing the organization’s current Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) system.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct a comprehensive current-state analysis, identifying gaps, pain points, process flows, and integration points.

• Gather requirements, including new use cases for external and community users.

• Develop an architectural vision, conceptual architecture, and role engineering framework.

• Conduct an environmental scan, perform market research, and gather learnings from other post-secondary institutions.

• Create detailed RFP requirement documents to support vendor selection and implementation planning.

• Identify and evaluate process changes at a high level to inform solution design.

• Estimate resources and costs required for the evaluation and implementation phases.

• Collaborate with stakeholders across the university, including IT, HR, and academic units.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in identity architecture, preferably in higher education, healthcare, or other complex environments with diverse roles and affiliations.

• Strong knowledge of identity lifecycle automation, identity data integration, and workflow orchestration.

• Expertise in IAM security principles, including authentication, authorization, and federation across on-premise and cloud platforms.

• Familiarity with Entra ID, Active Directory, and MIM—including known limitations.

• Deep understanding of IGA tools, frameworks, and best practices.

• Hands-on experience with tools such as SailPoint, Okta, or Oracle Identity Governance.

• Ability to define and manage identity policies, rules, and governance processes.

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Experience with RFP creation and project estimation.

• Familiarity with machine identity management and privileged access management (PAM).

• Experience integrating identity systems with ServiceNow or similar platforms.

• Understanding of auditing, reporting, and analytics within IGA solutions.

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.

Desirable Certifications:

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

• Certified Identity and Access Manager (CIAM)

• Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate

Additional Assets:

• Familiarity with compliance frameworks and regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA as they pertain to identity management.
